Wachtel’s Christmas Light Display: A Fun Holiday Tradition In Ohio

Wachtel’s Christmas Light Display

Watchel’s Christmas Light Display in Northeastern, Ohio

Christmas time is filled with favorite family traditions. Young and old alike can enjoy driving to see the Christmas displays together. Undoubtedly one of the best areas to head in Northeastern Ohio is to the Wachtel’s Christmas Light Display.

Location: Spring Walk Farms in Holmes County

Address: 13079 Township Rd 503 Big Prairie, OH 44611

Dates: Running every night from 5:00- 11:00 pm from Thanksgiving night through New Years Eve. Check their Facebook page for more details.

Put on some Christmas music and take your time driving through one of the longest running Christmas light displays in Ohio. For over 60 years, the Wachtel’s Christmas Light Display has been operated by the family. Friends, family members, and individuals in the community all pitch in to make the display happen each year. Nativity scenes, a lit tunnel, cartoon character boards and thousands of lit trees and festive displays make it a true celebration of Christmas.

Tip As you near the house the line splits in two, one veers left for children to visit with Santa and the other continues through the colorful Christmas displays.

For the best view, I enjoyed sticking my head out the sun roof to be surrounded by the lights and holiday decorations adorning the lawn. This experience is guaranteed to put you in a positive mood as you visit the Spring Walk Farm in Holmes County

Bring a Letter for Santa

Before leaving your home, grab your child’s Christmas letter to Santa because your child can have the opportunity to place their letter in a special mailbox. To top of the night, kids can visit with Santa Clause too. Even the Grinch was spotted sneaking mischievously around the property. From my perch out the sun roof, we were rewarded with a wave from him!
